Business Developer (Freelance Sites)
Win and grow Arctrait engagements on Upwork, Toptal, Freelancer, and similar platforms. Own pipeline, proposals, and the first conversation with new clients.
Role overview
We are hiring a business developer focused on freelance platforms (Upwork, Toptal, Freelancer, Guru, and similar). You will be the front door for new client conversations on these platforms and a key partner to our engineering and design leads.
What you will own
- Pipeline. Source, qualify, and respond to opportunities on Upwork, Toptal, Freelancer, and adjacent platforms.
- Proposals. Write tailored proposals that reflect Arctrait’s engineering depth without sounding like template spam.
- Discovery calls. Run first calls, capture scope and constraints, and hand qualified leads to the right delivery lead.
- Profile and reputation. Keep agency / freelancer profiles, case studies, and reviews polished and current.
- Reporting. Track win rate, response time, and average deal size; turn the numbers into a tighter playbook each month.
What we look for
- 2+ years of business development experience on Upwork, Toptal, or similar platforms with a real track record (you can talk through past wins, deal sizes, and lessons).
- Strong writing skills: clear, specific, and free of buzzwords.
- Comfort qualifying technical work (web, mobile, backend, AI, DevOps) without overpromising.
- Fluent business-English communication, async-first, with great judgment on when to escalate.
- High ownership and attention to detail: profiles, badges, and follow-ups stay current without prompting.
